Genesis A Clinic is a pioneering 501(c)(3)-pending organization which is dedicated to providing vital healthcare services and educational opportunities to impoverished individuals throughout Cameroon, Africa.
The organization strives to provide access for residents in Cameroon to quality healthcare in order to combat high infection and mortality rates, as well as to train individuals to serve as provide such care to those who desperately need it. Genesis A Clinic is compassionate and spiritually centered; we are advocates for living healthy lifestyles to sustain and improve the health of individuals and communities. Our overall intention is to ensure that residents of Cameroon get better healthcare, in the form of education, as well as treatment. Genesis A Clinic is in the unique position to begin fund raising for the construction of a hospital/ clinic which will administer services to those who otherwise would not have access to such vital care.
Our mission is to care for and support the vulnerable groups who are impoverished and affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic as well as other healthcare crises, by improving the quality of their life through public healthcare provision, skill transfer, education, community health education, and poverty alleviation.
Our vision is to improve the health of our patients and community through excellent care, education, and service. We enhance the health of our patients as well as educate them on ways to prevent health issues from arising.
Even though Cameroon’s proportion of doctors (1.9 per 1,000 inhabitants) is twice the minimum recommended by the World Health Organization, the country’s health statistics are paradoxically behind the curve. According to Worldbank, life expectancy for Cameroonians has decreased by about two years since 1990, while it has increased by an average of five years in the rest of sub-Saharan Africa. Cameroon is also among the countries where the mortality rate for children under five years of age (122 deaths per 1,000 live births) has decreased the least.
Genesis A Clinic will incorporate an innovative community health education program, through which we will provide a variety of health and nutrition services, focusing on preventative measures to decrease the incidence of acute and chronic conditions being experienced by individuals in the community we serve.
Our founder, Evelyn Awundga, has generously donated land to the corporation, located in two different locations in Cameroon, Africa. On each plot of land we plan to develop a community health clinic, the larger of which is ultimately planned to operate as a fully functional hospital.
The clinic will also provide an essential opportunity for our planned certified nursing assistance (CNA) program. With a shortage of doctors, health services in Cameroon are often provided by nurses. As well as being trained in basic health care, nurses focus on preventative programs and education on matters such as hygiene, nutrition and HIV/AIDS.
Partnering with Genesis A Clinic is not only a good community investment...it is also a good business investment!
